"We love our
club, our team, our Shrewsbury Town F.C" |
The Salop Ultras
supporters group started in November 2007 and was
made up of fans who wanted to bring a colourful loud
and noisy atmosphere to Shrewsbury Town's new
stadium at Oteley Road. Our first few months at
Oteley Road saw a large increase in attendances to
Shrewsbury Town home games. Like in most new
stadiums there seemed to be a lack of atmosphere and
character at Oteley Road so a few of us decided to
change things a little as a group. At first we were
all spaced out all over the place inside the stadium
there was small pockets of singing from different
areas of the stadium, however after a few of us
meeting up on the away supporters coach on the way
to Darlington on a Tuesday night decided that we
should all relocate as a bunch to a different part
of the stadium. This was supposed to happen on 15th
December vs Dagenham and Redbridge (which we won
4-0) but instead we brought it forward two whole
weeks for the m atch against Macclesfield Town on
December 1st 2007 in Block 9 of the South Stand a
match in which we won 2-0. Since then we have not
looked back and our group seems to be growing game
by game.
On December 15th 2007 we
created our football team F.C.Salop Ultras which played B&A at
Sundorne Sports Village going down 3-0, two weeks later we played
Shrewsbury Town ASFC at Meole Brace and lost 3-2. In February 2008
we entered a team into the local Powerleague 5's.
On 26th April 2008 Marc
Tierney became the first ever Salop Ultras Shrewsbury Town player of
the year winner. Seen here receiving a nice bottle of Champagne.

1.Never stop singing during the whole match, no matter the
result!
2.Never sit down during matches when possible to do so.
3.Follow as many games possible, regardless of costs or
distances.
4.Loyalty to the stand the group is located in. |
